Ref visits the V Festival - August 2005

Ref has travelled all over the world - America, Australia, the Far East (yeah, really, we just didn't take him out of our suitcase...), yet amazingly, he's been hardly anywhere in the UK! So for Ref's first trip in his home country, we took him to the 2005 V Festival at Weston Park in Staffordshire! Ref has always been a big fan of live music (honest!) so he fitted straight in. Read on to see what he got up to...

Never mind muddy Glastonbury or rock-heavy Reading, V was Ref's festival of choice this year, where such discerning acts as Joss Stone, Maroon 5 and The Streets were playing. Don't worry, there were some good bands too!

Here is Ref outside his tent. He needed help to put it up.

Ref's huge tent is available for hire for weddings and parties.

OK, time for some music. Ref and his friends can't get enough of Tony Christie!

Ref gets red-carded by people behind him for blocking their view whilst on Annie's shoulders! He gives them the red card back!

The inflatable nature of the Ref causes a man with an inflatable telephone to come up and tell us to 'Call your mother!'. Ref obliges.

Ref gets on the cover of the NME!!

As usual, Ref enjoys a few drinks during the proceedings...

...which of course leads to only one thing. Ref goes to check out the festival toilets. Urghh!

The stench of the toilets makes Ref giddy and causes him to lose his head.

Ref takes a look around the festival site and finds the mobile police station....


...and ends up in the back of a police car!
